Last monday we studied the facts and the President Dale's point of view:

 
Facts :

- Discovery was made by the hubble (l.5) < The hubble made a discovery.
- Data was decoded (l.5) <The hubble decoded the data.
- Data was analyzed (l.6) <The hubble analysed the data.
- The vehicles were described as flying saucers (l.8) < Scientits described (a fleet) of vehicles as flying saucers
- The flying saucers are supposed to enter Earth's orbit very soon (l.9-10 

President Dale's point of view : 

- He believed the Americans were entering the dawn (l.2)
- He hoped the Americans would have the chance to meet with the martians
- He felt this was the perfect summation of the 20th century(l.9)

- He found the discovery was extraordinary (l.5)

- According to him the world would never feel the same again (l.1) 

Grammar : Voie passive

Short test
Nobody was tested last Saturday because there wasn't a small test. 
 

Document summary

 

- Last Saturday we studied a text which was an extract from an address of President Dale 
to the nation. 
 
- In our notebooks we wrote a presentation of this text : 
The document is a special speech of President Dale (an address to the nation). 
The scene takes place on TV or on the radio. 
President Dale has an important thing to say to the Americans. 
He is talking about his wife who is called Marsha and his daughter who is called Taffy. 
He said he heard special news. 
 
The homework for Monday : 
invent 5 hypotheses > what is the important message of President Dale?
 

Grammar

Samedi dernier nous avons vu l'utilisation du pronom "who".
On utilise "who" lorsque le nom auquel il se rapporte est un être animé.
Par exemple : She is talking about his son who is called Peter.
