Ever increasing circles

 

Parts II & III (03/24/2007)

 

Document summary:

 

Saturday we studied the following parts of an article form the Guardian (which is a British newspaper), issued on 09/21/2001.

 

It deals with the method of drawing (or making) crop circles and with the circle believers.

 

We divided this texts on 3 parts :

-The authors (who the journalist considers as artists sepcialising in fieldworks)

-Required. Equipment + method: You need a tractor (l.18). A tape measure is necessary (l.18). It takes several hours to make a crop circle (l.19). You can't do whitout skteches. It takes a team of 4 men to make a crop circle (l.19).

-public : The circle believes can't help believing in supernatural causes of the crop circle.

 

Vocabulary :

 

ft : feet : pieds (la mesure)

1 foot = 30.48 cm (environ)

a light (N) : une lumière

a light bulb (N) : néon, ampoule

(to) beg: supplier

(i'm begging you : je t'en supplie; cf. song by Ayo : "down to my knees I'm begging you)

(to) specialise in sth : se spécialiser dans qqch
